They've been refining their craft over the years and integrating elements to enhance their black metal sound. As a result, their music is a homogenous blend of sounds - intense, melodic, atmospheric, even melancholic - that amplify the emotions and that too in a compelling manner. The music is almost never one-dimensional; every song undergoes transformation in varying degrees to contribute something valuable and meaningful to the album. Much like life, it showcases the turmoil, anguish, and even flashes of triumph, emotions that are all too palpable in their delicately arranged and tempered music. "Khamsin" is a striking album of emotional yet understated expression, and one that makes a powerful and lasting impact. Genre: Black metal For fans of: Der Weg einer Freiheit, Harakiri for the Sky, Infestus, Misþyrming, Sinmara Line up: All music and screams by M-Kha Lyrics by Alix.R Art design by Alex Eckman-Lawn Official release date: November 27th, 2026

The tone of this album signals that tragedy reeks more than triumph is longed, where every pursuit becomes a maze leading toward another dissolution. Ruin stands as a foundation that no longer supports awakening—it merely reflects the forms that once gave it meaning. All that Glimmers is Gloam pits the listener as judge and jury, bearing witness to a deposition of spiraling madness—a testimony mired in the bog of counterfeit gnosis, orchestrated amid Mephisto's instrumental haunts of melodic dissonance and Chrisom's séanced howls, each reverberating through a theatre of fracturing sanity. The labyrinth reveals itself as a scaffold of golem-like perception; knowledge fractures into paradox, and identity disperses into indistinguishable voices. Here, what glimmers is not illumination, but twilight; not revelation, but its reflection. Standing before the final threshold, the mirror of the self shatters, revealing the shape of many within the silhouette of none." Line up - Mephisto Deleterio - Music and production, Vocals Chrisom Infernium - Vocals, lyrics, and album design Cover artwork by Luciana Nedelea

Both bands have come up with brand new songs for this satisfying split release touching almost 40 minutes, with the music sounding like an extension of their established styles. Replicant are on fire after releasing two staggering full length albums and their new songs sound phenomenal here with extra nasty grooves, experimentation with female guest vocals, and they have even done a cover of Cocteau Twins. It's top class stuff as expected from them. Elitist follow up on their well-received debut full length with four songs of incisive, carefully constructed, and perfectly executed material that should make fans of this kind of music sit up and take notice. Their latest contribution bodes well for the Danish death metal scene which has already seen albums this year on the same label from Carbon Tomb and Dysgnostic, with whom they share a member. This superbly paired split from two of the best bands in the style should be a no-brainer for those into forward-thinking death metal music.
